  • Spyker C8 Laviolette Special Edition

The Shanghai Motor show will be the place for Spyker to launch their Laviolette Special edition. The engine has a supercharger, giving it an extra 100 bhp. Spyker of China has issued a press release with this photo:

I'm not sure whether the Special Edition always comes with one of these two different liveries or whether it just means an upgraded engine with any exterior you like.

The orange one has blacked out wheels, side mirrors and air inlets. The chrome rear piece is also black. The roofs seem to be black too.

weren't there some pictures around of these cars on this site where they were being driven outside? (looked like somewhere in the US)

You're right. Those photos have been deleted by the uploader on flickr because the cars weren't unveiled yet. I guess it's okay for me to post them now:

              Shanghai Motor Show

I was expecting Spyker to unveil the special edition Laviolette at the Shanghai Motor show (because of the Chinese press release) but looking at the stand it's missing. Maybe they will do this later or they are aiming for an unveiling at NYIAS. Which would make sense as Saab will be there as well, so Victor will probably be there too and do the unveiling himself.

Apparently these Special Editions consist out of 3 one of a kinds, for the Chinese market. Don't know how that third one looks.

Just got my new issue of European Car (although I'm not exactly sure why, it just started showing up at my house six months ago!) -- according to the article, the orange car is #165, and the other one is #163.

Also there was a nice write-up in a sidebar about a VF supercharged black Spyder that we all know pretty well!

                          @ Matt,

Is it possible you take a photo of that article and post it here?

Cool to see the VINs just falling in your lap (or inbox to be precise) .

So the dark Laviolette, special edition, isn't black/black but dark green/brown?
