As much as I really wanted the Hawks to win, I really can't be too upset about it (especially after last year!). It was clear who was the better team. But what great theater!

I guess I've always been a bit of a closet Canucks fan. When I was in college in the early 90's the Canucks were frequently the late game on SportsChannel (loved those black jerseys!). Seemed to me to be a great place to watch a hockey game. So much so that on my western U.S. road trip in 1993 I arranged to end up in Vancouver on a night when they were playing the Kings (with Wayne Gretzky). Got myself a "secondary market" seat right up on the glass. I rooted for the Canucks that night, and as I recall they won. Good time; nice city.

Absolutely true story: One of my cousins lives downtown Chicago. He'd heard rumors that some Blackhawks lived in the building. One day last summer he's out on the balcony, and hears some partying a few floors up. One thing leads to another, and the next thing you know he has a once-in-a-lifetime photo op.
