Today Tom and I did a project I wanted to do for a long time. I was able to get the last volt meter that Spyker had in stock. We put it inplace of the clock, but had the dilemma of where to put the clock.
After considering many options, including doubling up the dials on the left (like #244), putting an extra dial to the right of the row of four (which would be on the dash fold), deleting the vent on the left and making a cover plate for the vent and temperature dial (putting three in a row on the console), we finally settled for the clock to be on the right. Just as far away from the vent as the volt meter on the left.
With all the rewiring, and the test drills, it took us seven hours to do. Tom was very weary (and Matthijs of Spyker warned us many times of the risk) to drill in the dashboard. We left the dash in place, and used a large steel washer to guide the drill. Some of the dash structure had to be filed away, but the result is stunning.Last edited by F Spider; 23-03-2024, 16:09.
