image_12750.jpg image_12749.jpg ... here is the proof. The ship is real and the grasshopper is, too. (The ratio of grasshopper to Spyker is equal to the ratio of Spyker to Ferry.) The insect is Europe's largest, a carnivorous cricket called Saga natoliae (Serville 1838). Body size approx 10 cm (4 in).Last edited by F Spider; 23-03-2023, 13:51.

image_12756.jpg image_12755.jpg image_12754.jpg image_12753.jpg image_12752.jpg image_12751.jpg ... here a few documents about the trip. It was 5,300km in 14 days, plus two ferry crossings (Venice - Igoumenitsa, Patra - Brindisi). The route was Gotthard pass, Milano, Venice, (ferry), Igoumenitsa, Metsovo, Katara pass, Meteora, Kastoria, Katerini, Athens, Corintos, Nafplio, Pylos, Olympia, Patra, (ferry), Brindisi, Bari, Alberobello, Matera, Amalfi, Pompeii, Naples, Rome, Vatican (100m of road!), return. No rain whatsoever.
The worst part was downtown Naples. Cobblestone roads of the worst sort! The most exciting driving was Katara pass and across the Peloponnes peninsula. Dangerous and exciting is the Amalfi coast: very narrow winding roads, high speed traffic both ways, and - oh! - there are so many Fiat Cinquecento (immaculate) and all other cars with dents and scratches... have a look! Pictures taken at Igoumenitsa harbour, sunset at Katara pass, Metsovo 2x, Katara pass again and somewhere North of Kastoria, all Greece.Last edited by F Spider; 23-03-2023, 13:50.
