I have no idea how the system works while driving (is it for instance faster / smoother than the automatic gearbox that Spyker is using now) but could this be an option for the Aileron? If I recall correctly this system was once tested by the Williams Formula 1 team so I guess it should be able to handle the power.

I think the CVT in the Willliams car was as smooth as smooth could get: instead of the engine's RPM ascending and descending it were the cones and belts that adjusted the amount of power going to the wheels, this allowed the engine move at a set (optimal) RPM rate. Imagine the difference in sound with conventional F1 cars... Williams had figured out to make the belts strong enough to be used on a F1 car.The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do
