“The group's medium-term goal is to establish Saab as an independent, financially viable, niche premium car manufacturer,” Spyker said. “The board continues to carefully balance the need for cash to fulfill the working capital and development plans of Spyker in view of the priorities and cash needs of the group.”
Translation: Don't expect to see any new Spykers anytime soon.
Here are a few photo's from last night's fabulous party & special event at Tynan's SAAB in Fort Collins, Colorado...Owner of #162
Great presentation of the New SAAB with Spyker...several hundred guest's attended. A special thank you to the Tynan's for allowing me to be their guest. #162 was right next to a New 9-5 in the showroom where all the guest entered and existed. No doubt to all that attended that Spyker is the New Owner of SAAB.
Yes, very sad, especially for me. I have two Firebirds (actually three if you count the parts car), Dad has a Firebird as well, and my wife has a 2009 G6.
Although it's very curious, isn't it? Saturn, Hummer and Saab were all attempted to be sold by GM, yet Pontiac simply closed, and as far as I know all the trademarks are still held by GM. There must be a reason for the difference.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a Pontiac renassiance, once GM gets the government off their board of directors (sure, there's some people qualified to run a car company...).
