I think it is more like 5 right now. Including the two one off cars were at the paint shop. We only saw the one cabin that was just painted.

I have driven the RDW oval before in a SWB Spyder (not as fast as Hans). I only now realized that in a coupe, you cannot see anything.

On the banks, with the car an an angle, the road "curves up", and the windshield header is severely in the way. You cannot see any other cars ahead, just a little asphalt right in front of the car. To be racing, you would have to lower the seat considerably.

Depends on how tall you are. Tom would raise his seat

I was one of the last to get around the oval, and I noticed that, after one hour "racing", the oil temp was almost off the dial. At 140 C or 285 F, it was the highest I've ever seen.

... I saw high oil temperatures sometimes, too. And my car is still running ! See for example here.

The oil thins when it gets too hot and you can abrade the sides of your cylinders, eventually wearing through them. Best not to ignore the oil temp light if it goes on!

Yes. I've seen 280 in the S2K on the autobahn in 6th gear and 8000rpm, while the water temp stayed under 200. And I did back off a little

The photographs in the previous post are of #001, which is restored to her formal glory. The photographs in this post are of #008, the first and very special Double 12S, which was used to homologate the Double 12R(ace). This one has the 600HP BMW based race engine, built by Heini Mader. Was once kept in the office of his loving owner but has now been released
