Video of VM's signing and comments on "Saab Saabs"

This video shows a happy and determined Victor Muller:

YouTube - Spyker Cars finalizes the purchase of Saab Automobile

I understand that today Mr Muller, with one of his sons, is picking up his new 9-5 at Trollhattan and driving himself back home.

Thank you Spyker.

Is anyone else concerned that Victor and team will focus 110% for the next 2-3 years on Saab and to the exclusion of Spyker? All I hear about is how Spyker will save Saab, not much on how the Saab transaction will benefit the Spyker brand. Yes, I've heard discussion here on the benefits of the transaction around R&D, wind tunnels, etc, but whenever I hear Victor speak, the focus appears to be about regaining Saab customers, rebuilding the Saab brand, etc.

no I'm not really concerned about that. Ofcourse, Saab got a disproportional bunch of attention during all this, but that's not surprising as Saab is much better known than Spyker, and everyone wants Saab to be saved whereas not that many people care about what happens to Spyker. I'm sure Victor will focus more on what's going on at Saab from now on, but that doesn't mean Spyker will be neglected. He's talked about what's in it for Spyker multiple times and it all sounded pretty promising. Maybe there will be a 9-4X based D6 SUV in the future, who knows!

... the finances Spyker needs to continue will be coming from the "noise" in the Saab finances. I guess it is going to be less than 1% of the Saab budget...

.. in addition, Spyker Saab could sell out the Spyker brand to Antonov in a years's time! Nobody would object to that...

I am really curious what is going to happen in the coming 12 months!

I am not concerned. Of course the focus will be on Saab to make the company profitable within a couple of years. But on the other hand the C8 Aileron is brand new and finished. And the Aileron Spyder is almost finished.

And personally I won't be surprised if Spyker (read: CPP) will actually produce 100 Ailerons this year. The only Spyker that might suffer from the new focus might be the D8.

Just my 2p

Victor Muller ready to drive home from Sweden.

"Outside Saab Automobile´s factory in Trollhättan, Sweden, Muller, CEO of Spyker Cars was handed the keys to a top-of-the-line Saab 9-5 sedan by Saab Automobile CEO Jan Åke Jonsson. It is part of an all-new 9-5 product range which will go on sale later this year.

“I am delighted to take delivery of this stunning new car ahead of our customer orders," said Muller, CEO of Spyker Cars NV, which yesterday completed the acquisition of Saab Automobile AB from General Motors. “The 9-5 will be the first of three exciting new Saab cars which we plan to launch in the next 16 months"

Muller´s car, powered by a 300 hp 2.8L V6, with all-wheel-drive, adaptive chassis control, a head-up information display, a lane departure warning camera and surround sound hi-fi, will spearhead the most sophisticated model range Saab has ever produced."

I just spoke to Victor, he was on his way back to Holland in his new Saab. His son was doing all the driving. Victor sounded very pleased with the new 9-5.
