Rijk, I think you get as much pleasure from your Spyker by taking her apart and putting her back together as you do from driving her!

RijK, impressive! I would suggest you (and Tom) should soon get into a classic car project! Something unique, very historic and race car style... I am quite sure you would like that!

You know, photos like the above may deter future buyers!:lol::lol: I can assure everyone on this site, that it is possible to run a Spyker C8 Spyder for many miles without taking it entirely to pieces...

The #107 looked great with the clamshell off.

It looks very sleek without the front splitter

...hmm. I agree, it looks nice! However, I am scratching my front splitter so often that I would not really dare to be without it. My worst enemies are parking lots and low cornerstones...

And I assume it helps to prevent lift. So I guess you really need it above 100 mph as well.

Not in the normal configuration it doesn't. It is just for looks. If you plan to go over 140 mph on a regular basis, you should have your suspension adjusted and I am told by JP Clinging, factory driver, that the front splitter is removed entirely for top speed runs on large banked ovals, etc.

DO NOT run the car without that splitter. I did that once at speed and trust me, it does serve a purpose. That is the one piece that Spyker keeps on hand at a relatively cheap price so don't feel bad if you beat it up a little.

I wish I could have seen this disassembly. What did you put in it? I must have missed that post.
