I don't know how they get the mileage ratings, but in real world driving I find the Spyker almost twice as fuel efficient than the Ferrari 430. Real world driving for me means no highway miles, no city miles, just curvy mountain roads.
I drive the two cars completely different. The Ferrari has so much less torque that it begs to be driven through the rev range, while the Spyker has an abundance of torque and does not need to be flogged.
Also, to get the famous Ferrari sound you need to constantly play with the gas pedal to open the bypass valve, while the Spyker has the full sound range permanently available as long as you keep the sport button engaged.
It is easy to use as much as 10 MPG in the Ferrari, while I range between 18 and 20MPG in the Spyker
