I think we've made a mistake here, check the VIN we read from the NYIAS picture and it fails the accuracy check. Now that last digit could also be a 6 (instead of an 8). And that would make perfect sense: we know the #016 used to be black.
That way, the VIN from the NYIAS picture would also be identical to the one we already had from #016, and if you check that one you'll see it's a correct VIN.
Then there is another argument we discussed earlier: if the 'black/red #018 we now have, had become the 'aubergine/tan' #018 it had to have been completely repainted etc. between the end of April (NYIAS) and the beginning of June (Peking to Paris challenge). I think that's impossible.
So I think the black/red #018 is actually #016. And the Aubergine/tan is the one and only #018, and now for sale at König.
